About the role:
We're looking for an exceptional Senior Product Designer to join our team at k-ID. You'll craft intuitive, seamless digital experiences for parents while balancing regulatory compliance with user delight. The ideal candidate possesses strong UX/UI design expertise and user research experience to enhance both our consumer-facing and business client platforms. Your thoughtful, user-centered approach will be essential in transforming our mission into engaging digital solutions that connect with young users and their parents alike. Working alongside our Product Design Lead within the Product, Design, and Engineering (PDE) organization, you'll develop innovative online safety solutions for parents and kids/teens, while helping our clients build these crucial products.
In this role, you will:
Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that clearly illustrate the user journey, address user needs, while ensuring safety and compliance.
Collaborate with the Product Design Lead to create seamless experiences for our B2C and B2B users, raising the bar of design quality and fluency in the organization.
Conduct user research and usability tests to understand behaviors, pain points, and motivations - using insights to inform design decisions that support user goals and needs, while sharing these insights to the broader team.
Work with the Product Lead to leverage research, data analytics, competitive analyses, and customer research to proactively inform the product roadmap and build strong perspectives that guide your team towards making effective and impactful decisions that meets our customers needs.
Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure solutions are viable and implemented effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners including product, engineering, business, legal and compliance experts to identify key initiatives, determine metrics of success, in order to solve end-to-end experience that solve customers problems and meet business objectives.
Build consensus and alignment amongst conflicting data and viewpoints to deliver impactful design, and guide stakeholders to the most efficient use of their time for the team’s overall objectives.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Contribute to and maintain our design system to ensure consistency across all products.
Minimum Requirements:
7+ years of experience in product design - a perfect balance of UX Design, UI Design, and User Research.
Strong portfolio demonstrating solid critical thinking skills, data-informed decisions, high-level of craft, and measurable impact.
Experience in designing B2C and B2B products with high-engagement touch points, complex user journeys, on both desktop and mobile.
Effective stakeholder management, strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Experience working on “0-1” digital products in fast-paced startups, changing environments, delivering high quality designs within rapid iteration cycles.
Experience informing and driving design decisions by leveraging user research and quantitative data.
Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
Mastery of Figma, including interactive prototyping and working efficiently with component libraries and contributing to design systems.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience designing digital products that have complex compliance requirements.
Familiarity with age-appropriate design guidelines and children's online privacy regulations.
Background in psychology, human-computer interaction, or related field.
Experience working in agile development environments.
Experience working with data analytics tools.
