About you:
We are looking for a highly organized, experienced, and hands-on Art Outsourcing Manager to oversee the production of 3D art assets for our cutting-edge digital avatars. In this role, you will be responsible for managing relationships with external art vendors, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work, and upholding our artistic standards at Ready Player Me.
Your daily adventures will include:
- Communicating daily with external art vendors to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on art assets to maintain quality.
- Tracking project progress and managing deadlines consistently.
- Negotiating project scope and pricing on a weekly basis.
- Onboarding new vendors periodically (monthly or quarterly).
- Researching and implementing new pipeline tools as needed (typically quarterly).
- Troubleshooting production challenges whenever they arise.
- Collaborating with internal art directors on style guides to uphold artistic standards.
What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience in art outsourcing for games, film, or animation, with a proven track record of successfully managing outsourced art projects.
- Strong understanding of 3D art production pipelines and workflows, along with familiarity with various art styles and techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly articulate feedback and expectations.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in project management tools like Trello or Jira. Knowledge of 3D software such as Maya, Blender, or Substance Painter is a plus, as is comfort with version control software like Plastic or Perforce.
- A keen eye for quality assurance, with the ability to maintain high standards and address issues proactively.
- A genuine passion for digital avatars, gaming, and emerging technologies such as collectibles and virtual worlds.
As a bonus, it would be awesome if you:
- Have an understanding and knowledge of digital collectibles and Web3 standards and necessities.
- Have experience working in a startup or scaleup environment.
- Love to play games and understand gaming culture.
